love of value,
not in the easy or feeling’s glance
but in the sacred and the hard.

joy of life,
not just in glee or laughter’s dance
but in our deep connections;
treasure of true richness,
not in gold or precious cars
but in the presence of my Lord.

breath of wisdom,
not in knowledge or hard drive
but found in a gentle heart;
heart of worship,
not in ritual or fancy verse
but in the surrender of a life.

life of luxury,
not in ease or caviar
but in the freedom of forgiveness;
maturity in Christ
not in gifts or theology degrees
but in intimacy and love.

true artistic flair
not in a painting or pretty rhyme
but in a soul designed by God;
filled with Holy Spirit,
not in a tongue or clanging cymbal
but in commitment’s voice.
