A breadth of media out there to consume
Unfortunately leading many to their internal doom
As it is said, comparison is the thief of joy
Which has lead many to constantly destroy
They've disrupted the fabric of their reflection
Causing a self hatred that induces rejection
Breaking themselves into a hundred pieces

"Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"
What they didn't realize is how words impact emotion and thoughts so substantially
There are plenty of motivational quotes and positive affirmations
Yet, none seem to really resonate with the ones who lack proper foundations
People try to latch onto anything they can with the fall they're on
Leaving many grasping at the wrong things since they chose incorrectly what to stand on
Which results in them breaking into a thousand pieces

A lot of people want to reinvent the wheel
Changing definitions of longstanding meanings based on what they feel
None of it is real without facts and truth
Providing us with an ever confused population of youth
Everyone thinking that their opinion is the best and only option
Causing a divide in cultures similar to the deadliest toxin
Making an enormous amount of people broken into a million pieces

No puzzle is the same and life isn't a game
There are consequences that occur regardless of acclaim
Self inflicted or improperly placed by others the pressure is there
To overcome, turn to the source that actually deeply cares
