Faith

When I come to you in prayer Jesus,
I hope it won’t always be,
A request for divine intervention,
Begging that you hear my plea.

I hope I’ll always remember,
To start each prayer by thanking you,
For your sacrifice that paid the price,
And all that you went through.

How did you endure
Such pain and agony?
Why would you bear what you did,
So unselfishly, for someone like me?

When I come to you in prayer dear Jesus,
I’m glad you know what's in my heart.
I want you to feel my gratitude and love,
With each word of praise from the very start.

I know without you I can do nothing,
I know now that it’s your will, not mine.
I also know now Lord to listen,
With my heart, not just my head all the time.

Lord, I know and trust you know what’s best,
Although I’m not always aware,
Of what your plan may have in store,
So I come to you in prayer.

I come to you to heal my heart,
That’s been broken by a loss I feel,
I come to you because I know,
It’s something only you can heal.

I’m just an earthly person,
I don’t always understand,
So I’m asking as I’m praying,
For you Lord, to take my hand.

Reveal to me what I need to know,
When you know I’m ready to hear.
I trust you’ll understand me too,
When I come to you in prayer.

I pray when I just want to talk to you,
Or when I have troubles big or small.
No matter what’s on my heart or mind,
I trust you with it all.

You are so awesome to me Jesus,
You fill my heart with love and peace.
And I hope when you look upon me,
That most of the time you're pleased.

I feel you in my life so much,
I see your work all around.
I’m so glad that I chose you Lord,
And that someday, I’ll be heaven bound.

But until you say it’s time dear Jesus,
I’ll do what I can right here.
I’m sure you’ll be hearing from me often,
When I come to you in prayer.
