“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:36-37 NIV

Jesus here wanted to make sure that the expert of the law understood that the Samaritan was a loving neighbor of the man who fell victim to the robbers.

We will meet many of those who are in need. Now, we may not be able to always provide help to everyone we hear of in need, but we must be loving toward all. We can certainly pray for all those who are in need, and there will be plenty of times that we can be of help in other ways, such as financially, spending time with those in need, and other ways. Live not for yourself but be loving and kind to others.
