A True Disciple 1

It is very common for people to always ask questions about who a true Disciple is and the "scarcity" of a genuine one. Different people have given different answers to such questions. God does not leave us in the dark because He has given us the Holy Scriptures to guide and guard us in all things.

Let us briefly consider a few verses of the Scriptures. Jesus used the first question in Matthew 16:13-15 to draw the attention of His disciples. In verse thirteen He asked, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”. This drew competitive answers that began with "some said..." because it is easier to quote others and possibly criticize them.

However, the second and most vital question was in verse fifteen
[15]He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” It was only Peter who could answer by the revelation of the Heavenly Father. Others remain quiet. The same question we should be OCCUPIED by "But whom say ye that I am?".

In other words, "Whom do I say Jesus is?" How much of Jesus I (you) know will tell me (you) how much I (you) should pray to be like Him

1 Peter 3:1-2 My (your) conduct should be able to DRAW others to become JESUS' DISCIPLES, without uttering any word.

Disciples of Jesus Christ are to be doers of the instructions of the Lord Jesus, James 1:25

There are so many people today in Pharisees' shoes, and there is nothing anyone can do about it, it has been so, it is so today and so shall it be forever. Yet, we can learn from them, WHAT TO DO(which they preach but do not practice) and WHAT NOT TO DO (their styles of living are filled with hypocrisy and deceit), Matthew 23:2

When PEOPLE see us, BELIEVERS and UNBELIEVERS alike, doing the right things in Christ and like Christ, they will know that we are DISCIPLES OF CHRIST and they will be bold to call us Christians, Acts 11:26.
