I hear the clutter
and clamor of life
Then beg for mercy
with no time to listen

Endless days
I beg for a tender ear
And no time to sit still

Tears stream down my weary face
As I fall to my knees
Begging for a helping hand

On my knees
I raise my tired arms
Pleading from the depths of my heart
Hoping in my weakened state
I close my eyes

Quiet surrounds
Warmth embraces
Stillness has overcome
In the depth of my heart
a calming whisper
brushes my senses saying,
“ Peace. Be still and know that I am God.”
