The Caped Crusader
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
Recently, while perusing the internet I found a delightful website containing thousands of television theme songs. Among them were a number of movie themes. I accessed Superman II, one of my favorite movies, to hear the stirring music, Superman March, created by John Williams. "Truth, Justice and the American Way", the Caped Crusader was sure to fly to the rescue.
About twenty months ago, I encountered a problem causing me great distress. I was falsely accused of wrongdoing though my accuser refused to offer any proof of my guilt. After what seemed like countless hours of phone calls, I offered all that I could to prove my innocence. My efforts were fruitless and I was told it was time to suffer the consequences. It was then that I recalled Philippians 4:6-7. With humility and faith I petitioned the Trinity for help. Soon after, I was led to two sources of which I had no knowledge that guided me to find my accuser's error and the advocacy to correct its mistake.
In the comic books, when all seemed lost, our nation's President would call for Superman and truth and justice were soon restored.
We, too, have a Superman. He is the greatest Caped Crusader of them all. His name is Jesus Christ and He is just a fervent prayer away from flying to our rescue.
Christ's death on the Cross was the greatest victory in history. When Jesus commended His spirit to God He defeated the two most powerful enemies that exist: Death and Satan.
Call on His name and He will do what is righteous.
I invite you to listen to Superman March but consider it Jesus Christ March, instead.
Truth, Justice and Jesus' Way. He was the humble Clark Kent in life and THE Caped Crusader in time.
