Do Not Looke Back

Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:61-62 NIV

We are not to look back to our days before giving our lives to Christ with any yearning for that which we gave up. To follow Christ most definitely requires a sacrifice but look at the sacrifice Christ made for each of us. Did He hesitate in going to the cross that we might be saved? In no way did He hesitate. In fact, He proclaimed three times to His disciples that He would be turned over to evil men who would have Him put to death. Do not look back on that which you have given up to follow Christ. It will never match all that Christ gave up for you and your salvation.
