As time slips through my fingers
falling down into my regret,
distracted by what may be
being present I soon forget.

Pain weighs heavy on my heart
when its carried all alone,
draining hope in its shadow
to depression I am prone.

Picture fading on the wall
no matter how long I may glance,
shame staining the colours shown
discarding the sacred romance…

As grace comes alive in me
hope rises to give me breath,
connected despite what may be
being present in God’s strength.

Be still and know the God on high
aware of love, you’re not alone,
walk in light found in His joy
embrace the peace that you are known.

Picture not finished, still in His hands,
brush strokes of many different shades,
enhancing life through the colours shown,
the sacred romance never fades.
