I pray that you will hear this thought of my heart. This is a thought I’d like to share with those who will hear. Have you noticed some nights you are awaken out of a good night’s sleep, only to find yourself suddenly staring at the ceiling? I don’t think there’s anyone that this has not happened to.
Pay close attention. What do you remember as the very first thing that crossed your mind when you opened your eyes? Was there a sense of being awaken for a reason? You may turn over to try to get back to sleep, and you just might be able to doze off again for a short time, only to find yourself opening your eyes again.
This has happened to me so many times, and it took such a long time for me to get the hint that perhaps there was much more going on here than my not being able to sleep. Was the Lord waking me? Was He perhaps waking me up to intercede for a loved one or perhaps someone that I may never know who needs prayer. Could this be someone who is considering a dire end to his or her life. Is someone perhaps in some far away country experiencing persecution and who needs the strength of another saint’s prayers in support to get him through.
Maybe it’s a loved one who needs prayer and you just can’t seem to get through to during the day when you intercede. Or this could be the time when the Father chooses to answer those questions you’ve been seeking answers to and the wisdom you asked for you could hear so clearly if awaken to hear His word.
I have now recognized that this is such a special time to spend in His presence. It’s almost as though it’s a time when heaven touches earth and your intercession reaches the very heart of God, and you’re so quickly surrounded in His presence as he attends and listens as you intercede.
This, I have found to be a very precious time to pray. It’s as though you have been chosen and given a very special assignment. The time to pray in the night watch.
When Jesus (Yeshua) was praying in the Garden of Gethsemani, he asked his disciples to keep watch and pray. He has commanded us to watch and pray saints for the days are evil. He will equip us when we pray. There is so much accomplished in battle that we are not aware of when we take the opportunity in rising during the night watch to intercede and pray as the Spirit leads.
So watch and pray little lights .
I have had my battles with getting up to pray and the Lord gave me this poem one morning as I awoke.
“Wake Up My Child”
A Song For Those Who Want To Sleep
By: Leta La Monde Christian
When your eyes open from a deep, deep sleep.
And you know that it is Me,
The One you love
Wake up my child.
Arise for you know that I Am near.
Wake up my child.
Come and hear the Words I say.
Awake my child.
Do not go your thoughtless way.
Wake up my child.
For I watched over you throughout the night.
And I Am your guiding light.
Wake up my child.
I seek to speak with you today.
Please let me show you I Am the Way.
I know that you desire to sleep.
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
Wake up my child my little-light.
Be bright throughout this day
And night.
Rise up my child.
I’ll be your guide.
I’ll be your light.
Walk by your side.
Wake up my child.
Arise my child.
Wake Up.
