Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. Luke 9:16 NIV

Even as Jesus was in the process of creating food to feed all these people, He did not call attention to Himself. He simply took the bread and fish and looked up toward heaven, letting the heavenly Father know that He thanked Him for what He would allow to happen through His Son. Jesus did so much, yet He never did it in a manner to bring glory to Himself. He wanted the glory for the Father. Jesus did not need to receive any glory through man. He received glory through the Father. Yet, being as Jesus is who He is, we do glorify Him as having been obedient to the Father, thus rescuing us from an eternity without God.
