Doubt Cannot Separate Us From God

In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed. Ephesians 1:13 CSB

We who come to receive and follow Jesus are given promise of His presence. We might be overwhelmed about some matter or concerned about stumbling. But His Spirit in us will deliver us from our fear. When we do our part in putting the Spirit to work by listening to the voice of His Spirit, and trusting the voice of His word, God shows us His way of escape.

Recognizing I am secure in Faith given me. His presence brings back my own trust with confidence of His sufficiency to see me through. I only feel I have lost when trusting in my reasoning…  allowing ‘feelings’ to spread fear.  

I remember some promises my wife typed on a card and stuck it in the mirror on her dresser from Romans.

 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

This was evidence to both of us as we treasured God’s word in our heart. From his blessed assurance recognizing, no situation was too big that the power of His presence in us … was leading and working.

   He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. 2 Tinothy 1:9

Father, thank you for sealing us in your Holy Spirit. Through all our circumstances, nothing can harm or separate us. The power of evil has no authority or hold on us to take us from Jesus. AMEN
