Beautiful life – not lived,
colour removed from the painting,
joy destroyed without a breath
no shadow will you make,
your choices ripped away
by another’s choice.

Beautiful life from first heart-beat,
delight of the Father’s heart;
put on a shelf without a name
discarded alone on a garbage heap,
inconvenient truth has been denied
in the ruins of past mistakes.

Beautiful life now only imagined
laughter and dancing never to be,
abused by our desire, born from the darkness
lost in the wasteland by our plans gone astray,
mourn for the beauty dismissed by our ease,
knowing the world is less as a result.

Beautiful life that could have been
left without a voice or a claim,
precious story hidden from our known,
love forgotten, before a glance;
time to stand, help them decide
to always make life the choice.



Note: Written for the 200,000 lives that are aborted each day in the world. That is 73 million lives lost a year without a name been given to them, without a breath, glance or chance to bring beauty into the lives of others. May life always be the choice!
