KOA Home for the Holidays

Travelers will use varied modes of transportation as they head home for the holidays. Years ago, we had a California KOA home for the holidays. Our family lived outside of San Bernardino in the Devore canyon KOA. We made friends with our neighbors; a large Missouri family living in a converted school bus.

As I recall, we likely celebrated both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays together with our campground friends. We set up our holiday dinners on picnic tables and they even shared their Christmas tree with us. They cut off a small top section and saved it for us; it fit perfectly in a corner of our camper. Many RV full timers make campgrounds their homes for the holidays.

Home isn’t determined by size, street address or length of stay. Some are simple; others elaborate. Homes even come on wheels. You learn contentment. Jesus had no place to call home…

“And they went on to another village.

As they were going on the road, someone said to Him, ‘I will follow You wherever You go.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head (Luke 9:56-58 NASB).”

Let Jesus dwell (remain) in you.

“Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing (John 15:4-5 NASB).”
