Do Not Be Drunk 2

In the first part of this write-up, it has been established that it is possible to be "people drunk". That is, behaving like a drunken man when one sees an assembly of people, many times the number one has not seen before.

It will not be in one's interest and advantage. The demerits did not end here on the Earth. It has an eternal effect.

To crown it all, for a man who is drunk inheriting the Kingdom of God is very doubtful. The Scriptures disclose,
"[10]nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:10.

No matter the circumstances, a leader should be able to rule over his spirit. He should not be carried away by the number of people present to utter or do things he ought not to do. He needs to watch everything he will do or say so that he will not do or say anything amiss.

Narrowing this discussion to the Ministers, a faithful Minister should allow the Holy Spirit to use him. He has no words of his own but only the utterances given to him within a given time frame.

The Holy Scriptures disclose,
"[32]And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
[33]For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints."- 1 Corinthians 14.

Let me draw this piece to a conclusion with the story of a General Overseer who purposed to preach all messages he has on marriage one day at a wedding ceremony.

The wedding ceremony was the first to be held in his church auditorium which attracted so many people to the church. It was a congregation he never had in his church. The presence of the huge assembly of people made him drunk. Every attempt to caution him proved abortive.

This General Overseer preached until almost everyone left his seat. He wanted to preach every sermon on marriage on that day. Is it possible?

Let the Holy Spirit do the work through you. Do not hijack the work from Him. He knows what is good for the audience you are facing that will meet their individual and collective needs. A writer advised, *_"Don't speak until you are sure you have something to say, and know just what it is, say it, and sit down."

If you have been blessed with overtaking nervousness before an audience, never become people drunk. Act right and decently. Do not suffer the experience of a drunken man. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord
