One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1 NIV

Often I struggle with prayer. At times I wonder if I am just repetitive, or not praying for the proper things. I can at times find myself distracted. There have been countless books written on prayer and how to do it, but who would it be best to seek for help on this matter? Jesus gave us a very simple, yet great way to pray. We do not need to just read the words He gave to us, but we can apply what He says when we pray. I have recently begun doing this and have found my prayer time to be even more inspiring and feel more connected to God in my time of prayer. Over the next few days, I will share with you what I have discovered, using the gospel of Matthew in using the Lord’s words.
