     In case you haven’t noticed, the Modern Street Gang scene has changed, once again—the latest of several changes over the last five years.  For those who may have tuned in late, unless you keep up with the changes that have been taking place in the streets, suites and the media (including the Internet), you’ll be thinking that you are in some strange new universe and gangs no longer exist.  And, your favorite column has been tracking those changes, as the remainder of society has been making changes as well.

      Here’s some of what has taken place.  Our societal timeline has changed.  We now have gang dynamics which have existed before, during and after the pandemic—three new, distinct, covert/overt time jumps.  Prior to the ‘bite’ of the Wuhan Virus, gang members could circulate freely, identified themselves by their colors, tats and motivations—as well as the criminal enterprises to which they joined themselves.  This was the first ‘time shift’.

      Then came the virus, the lockdowns, the facemasks and the mandates.  Now you had people pretty much ‘masked up’ and staying home—off the streets.  This includes school.  How can gangs recruit without movement?  How could a bully shakedown a school kid for their lunch money IF they weren’t in school—but at home participating in an E-learning classroom?  This was the second ‘time shift’ as one could say, as crime—literally—had to take a holiday for the sake of survival.  Yes, gangs still existed, but we saw them in the form of Antifa, BLM and other ‘flashmob cartel’ types; getting together to plan mayhem via the worldwide web, their Iphones and their electronic ‘thug for hire’ pay apps.  Oh yes—did I mention that in many of the Democrat-run cities and states the cops were told to ‘stand down’ and allow these knuckleheads to ‘do their thing’?

      Of course, we know how well THAT worked.  Many major city police forces were depleted and defunded.  Cops became frustrated and ‘moved on’ to counting their Mondays and retiring, or just flat-out quitting and transferring their skills, talents and abilities to Republican-run cities and states.  Citizens and businesses that could afford to move DID—from crime-ridden cities to better run cities.  We also went from a change in presidential administrations and policies, changing from a secure border to an open border—with the predictable influx of foreign gangs and cartel activity.

      Currently we are in the third ‘time shift’.  The influx of foreign gang and cartel members, illegals with gang ties, and terrorists fueled by witchcraft, satanic worship and demonic infestation—along with hard-core narcotics--have made their way from the southern—and northern borders—into a variety of states.  More to come.
