"...Or the thing I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes and No, No?

But our God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No." 2 Corinthians 1:17-18(NKJV)

The above are the words of Apostle Paul to the people to the people at Corinth. Every Kingdom-minded person should be able to utter those words. In other words, a Pilgrim on the Earth should be a man of his word. That is, he should not be double-tongued. He should not be saying "Yes!" with a part of his mouth and "No!" with another part of the same mouth.

Beloved, irrespective of the status of a person who says different things from both sides of his mouth in society, can he be classified among the honorable? Any man whose words cannot be taken seriously is not fit to be termed an honorable man.

Let us consider the words of the servant of Saul who was w0ith him when he was assigned to look for the ass of his father which was lost. When his master was wearied of looking for the animal, and he opted to go back home, the servant said, "Look now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all he says surely come to pass. So let us go there: Perhaps he can show us the way that we should go."_ 1Samuel 9:6.

Beloved, note well that one other thing closely associated with this honorable man is the faithful words of his mouth. Watch the expression carefully, "all that (without any exception) he says surely comes to pass."

Every word of an honorable man should, without any doubt, come to pass. Although those words were meant to refer to a prophecy the same applies to any word of a man of integrity. An honorable man will not promise what he cannot deliver to his people. However, when his words fail because of circumstances beyond his control, he will not hesitate to apologize and give reasons for the failure. He remains faithful!

In politics, an Honorable Man will not promise juicy things to win the hearts of the people so that they could vote for him, only to start editing, distorting, or redefining what he had promised during the campaign period. What will an honorable man do if he is faced with the reality on the ground, after the election, that he has bit more than he could chew? He will resign his appointment to allow another person to take over whatever office he holds. It is only a dishonorable person who allows himself to be booted out of office or wait until the end of his tenure or a long period before his tenure ends, only to his wretchedness. An Honorable Man will not allow putting himself to shame.

Dearly Beloved Pilgrim, pay attention to the truth that it was not an Honorable Man who introduced himself to Saul, the potential king of Israel at the time. It was a person who had watched the ways of life of the man of God to visit. I think he must have had a first-hand experience of all that he said about the man to be an honorable man.

He confidently assured his boss that the honorable man he recommended, Prophet Samuel, could be taken by his words. He was sure of every word that proceeded from his mouth. This is always true of any honorable man at any time and any day.

An Honorable Man knows the meaning and implications of his words. Do you know that no one requires an oath from him before he can be taken seriously on any matter that concerns his utterances? "What has he said?" is all that people need to know to believe and put their confidence in him. About an Honorable Man, people will, with all assurance, say, "What he has promised to do, he will surely do." even when the fellow concerned is not present,
The Lord Jesus Christ warns, _"But let your "Yes" be "Yes", and your "No" "No". For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." Matthew 5:37.

When a man cannot be taken for his words, other devilish steps may be brought before him to ascertain that he will be sincere to his people. Such people have not acted according to the state of integrity of their hearts but in the fear of the evil one brought in. Does this need to take place to be honored?

Examine yourself, Beloved, are you among the Honorable Men? Can people hold you for your words? When you speak, can people see your sincerity in it?

Let me not fail to state that sometimes, the words or promises of an honorable man may fail but where this takes place, he will not only be bold to own up and disclose the reason(s) why it is so. However, people will see and believe in his disclosure of the truth. Failure of promises is not a common occurrence in the life of an honorable man.

May the Lord help us all to live to please our Lord and to become Honorable Men and Women among the people in Jesus' name. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
