When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.” Luke 7:39 NIV

How often do we get caught up in thinking about the sins of others? Why do we do this? We want to believe that we are better than others. We must look inside ourselves and remember that by nature we are a sinner. We have redemption, salvation, and eternal life solely through the love and mercy of God. We have done nothing to deserve that with which we are blessed. What we have done that is good is to accept God’s love and mercy rather than rejecting it. Rid your mind of such thoughts as this Pharisee had.
