There is s kind of complacency that is actually predicated on fear, though on the surface fear and complacency would not seem closely related. But this subtle fear of which I speak, which is couched in complacency, reasons secretly behind the scenes in the following way: "let's leave well enough alone. My most recent efforts were fruitful and I don't want to risk undoing that should any new efforts on my part not appear to measure up to the effectiveness of my previous efforts. Let me play it safe and not rock the boat." But what if the previous success was only a hint or small fortaste of the success to come? In that case being too easily and too soon satisfied can prevent us from stepping out in faith into His fullness in a supernatural realm that our loving Lord has prepared for us to experience, for His glory and the inevitable good of others.
