comes from the Gospel account of Mark 4: 35-41

Jesus regularly told those hearing Him that He had come to bring into Earth “The Kingdom of God.”

He gave several word pictures explaining HOW it works, this coming of The Kingdom. It is a process to the full Kingdom being totally in effect.

BUT WOW! Jesus gave us HIS authority rights in the Earth over things He describes; it’s just like all that Adam and Eve had authority over before they sinned. IF we trust Jesus as our Savior THEN He has granted to us to use the Authority of His Name to stop the works of the enemy, who is intent on our destruction.

True and engaged followers of Jesus may speak to the storms and control their behavior when they are being destructive. I know. I tested it; and 7 times to date, it stopped the winds that were becoming more and more violent in my area. It is NOT me, I am no big shot. Jesus IS!!

In our Nation, maybe all Nations now the weather is fierce at times, we must remember that Jesus rebuked His original disciples because they were fearful and did not do what He gave them His permission to do. STOP THE STORM!

Mark 4: 35 – 41: “...when evening was come He (Jesus) says to them, “Let us pass to the other side.”

And when they (Disciples) had sent the multitude away, they took Him, as He was, (how was THAT?) in the Ship, and there were also other ships with them”

(So, there were those in other ships who also witnessed this thing that Jesus demonstrated.)

I must give my Pastor, J. Harry, credit for the question focused on “as He was.” How was He? Exhausted! The fact that Jesus laid down and went to sleep tells us that He was tired.

We do remember that Jesus was IN ALL WAYS just like one of us, but as God in flesh, He did not sin. Being tired is no sin and resting is God approved. At the least, after we have worked.

Mark tells us that a great storm arose and where was Jesus? In the back of the ship asleep.

We are told that the Disciples were correctly in great fear.  Most, if not all, of us can understand that fear. So the went to Jesus and woke Him up, saying, “Master, don’t You care that we are going to die?”

Mark says Jesus stood up and rebuked the wind, saying “Peace, be still!” AND THE WIND CEASED, AND THERE WAS GREAT CALM.”

Then Jesus said to the Disciples; “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?.”

Their fear did not go away altogether, because while the fear of the storm was gone, NOW they feared exceedingly for a different reason: “Who,” they asked among themselves, “is this man that even the winds obey Him?”

Jesus had told them things, assignments they were to do, and they apply to us today as well; GO>>>, Preach the good news of the Kingdom of God, cast out devils, heal the sick, raise the dead.”

WHY don’t we believe it? Further WHY don’t we DO those things?

Matthew 28: 18 “And Jesus spoke to them saying, “All power is given unto ME, IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH.

Luke 10:19, Jesus speaking to His Disciples: “Look! I give unto you power to tread on serpents, and scorpions, and over ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY; and nothing shall by any means harm you.”

The war in the spirit/Spirit did not just begin, we were born into it. We are not well taught about it, I would suppose because there seemed to be calm overall, so the teachers took a rest.

Today the evidence of war in the spirit/Spirit has increased. We MUST study the Scriptures and find those tools Jesus has given us authority BY HIS NAME to use for the Victory over evil.

Fearful was I when the winds were blowing the tall hardwood trees around my home, bending them as if they were sticks. Of course, I called out the God asking what to do. I immediately remember what Jesus did when the storm rose on the Sea, and that He rebuked His Disciples for not doing it themselves, so I did! I commanded the winds to cease, IN THE NAME OF JESUS OF NAZARETH!

AND THEY DID STOP! I am ashamed to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. This has happened seven times to date.

Because I never want to carelessly speak against the Lord’s work, and He does send rain, not to destroy unless as in the days of Noah, as a judgment...this is what I proclaim every day, “We receive NO weather except that which comes from God, In the name of Jesus I proclaim it!”

It’s real folks. And the subject of the power Jesus intends us to use to build His Kingdom as I have spoken in this article is but one of the subjects presented in Scripture. It is an exciting read. Try studying it intently, rich wisdom and instruction is there. None of us know all of it as yet. It gets deeper and deeper.
