Some people live in a house of mirrors
Trying to analyze every little thing to see things clearer
What they don't realize is they become lost
In a maze of those same mirrors suffering a greater cost

Sacrificing your present for a deeper dive into the past
Doesn't equate to a happier life nor does it give you solutions fast
A future laying in wait becomes more daunting
The more you allow your old regrets to keep haunting

Center yourself within the proper priorities
Only then will you capture the essence of your reality
Everything we experience has a facet of being temporary
So quit struggling to let go of something you should no longer carry

Far too many try to force certain life aspects
While they lack the intangibles needed to acquire the desired effects
Patience is still a virtue many need to adopt
Otherwise their ambitions they try to rush will continue to flop

We're all unique in how life transpires
Therefore timing won't always align for common desires
Not everyone gets married at the same age or stage
So comparison in that sort of occurrence isn't worth the rage

Whether you're quicker or take longer for certain milestones
The truth remains that your journey isn't cloned
Nobody before and nobody after will encounter the exact same
So take comfort in knowing that your adventure is yours to claim

Without the bad you'd never fully appreciate the good
Without the failure you'd never fully learn the lessons you should
With knowledge comes great understanding and power
With eagerness comes the ability to progress hour by hour
