But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Luke 5:30 NIV

Here were the Pharisees and teachers of the law complaining to the disciples about what Jesus was doing. These arrogant, self-righteous men were so very blind. What made them think that they were worthy to be in the presence of God? All they sought was recognition for themselves. They had no interest in being obedient to God. They wanted recognition for themselves. We have no right to complain to God about anything. All that we have is a gift from Him. Do not be like these men. Be thankful to God for His love, kindness and mercy.
