One truth about humility is that it cannot be hidden. It is displayed for all to see. It is like all other virtues. It cannot be kept away from the glare of others.
Humbleness is displayed for God to see.
If humbleness cannot be hidden, God will be the first to see it. Because meekness begins from the heart, it is God Who can easily access the contents of a man's heart. He will be the first to see it. He will also commend the action that follows the humble thoughts.
This was the case with King Josiah when the book of the law was found in the store which contains the judgment of God on the land of Judah and its inhabitants.
The thoughts and the actions of the king were seen and commented on by God. The Scriptures disclose, "Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD. 2 Kings 22:19, KJV.
Humility is also displayed for men to see and publicize. Like all other virtues, it can be seen by men and they will mention and discuss it.
It is on record about Moses that "(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) Numbers 12:3.
Beloved, may the Lord give us the spirit of humility so that we can have the virtue to display before God and man for the glory of God. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
