At the point of starting this piece, I remember a radio slogan that runs thus, "Good food is what the body needs, feed well but don't overfeed!"

The first among the three essential commodities of man, food is the first. The two others are clothes and shelter. It is only a man who is fed, and possibly fed well, that can ever think of clothes and accommodation.

The Creator of Heaven and Earth in His infinite mercy provided the necessary foods for the needs of mankind before He ever conceived the idea of creating man to represent Him in the Garden of Eden.

After He created the man, Adam, He instructed him thus, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat." Genesis 2:16; King James Version, KJV.

Since that time, God has always provided for the feeding of His people, no matter the circumstances. He had never failed and He will never fail. He feeds them directly through the labor of their hands without stress or He raises someone to meet their needs of feeding where and when they are incapacitated by any means. In the same vein, where and when no man is available for use, He chooses other creatures to feed them. After all, He used a bird to feed His Prophet, Elijah. He never changed and will never change.

Every good father is concerned about the feeding of his family. He does all things to meet the feeding needs of his household. Why will not God meet the feeding of His family members? He is the best Father Who is incomparable.

As much as the Lord your God loves to feed His people, He detests overeating. God is not interested in feeding His people, He is interested in their total welfare package. He wants His people to be in sound health. He wants moderation in their eating habits.

When He rained Manna for the children of Israel in the wilderness, on their way to the promised land, He instructed them to take a daily meal.

The Lord Jesus Christ also taught His disciples to pray for their "Daily Bread" so that they will not be encouraged to overeat by having more than enough. He wants His people to be fed and be filled.

Not only that, the Lord detests wastages. He does not want His provisions to be wasted. When more than five thousand people (including women and children o) were well-fed by Jesus Christ, the Lord commanded the remnants to be gathered so that nothing was wasted. That is the Lord your God for you.

In every hard time, trust Him, He will meet your feeding, and other needs, at the right time and in the right place appropriately using His chosen channel. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.

Scripture references: Genesis 2:16; Matthew 6:9-12; 1 Kings 17:1-10; Mark 6:38-44.
