“If you want to enjoy life
    and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
    and your lips from telling lies.
[11]Turn away from evil and do good.
    Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
[12]The eyes of the lord watch over those who do right,
    and his ears are open to their prayers.
But the lord turns his face
    against those who do evil.”1 Peter 3:10-12. NLT

The above statement exposes the secret of living a successful life each day. The secret, if exploited, will give an assurance of having joy and a long life.

What is the secret (s)? Avoid telling lies or deceit in all ramifications. Close to that is running away from anything called evil and choosing to do only what is good. To crown it all, you have to search for peace diligently and work hard to maintain it. It is then you will position yourself to receive answers to your prayers from God and subject your enemies to discipline from Him. God hates every evil work.

Do you know what? You have to do these things each day of the year of your pilgrimage on Earth.

In the early part of his life, Father Jacob sowed evil seeds that painted his life in back color. He supplanted his older brother, this was an evil act. He also lied to his father, Isaac. No wonder then that he added "few and evil" to the days of his pilgrimage on the Earth, (Genesis 47:9).

Whoever sows evil will reap the same. Jacob lied to his father alone. Ten sons conspired to deceive him for so many years. He was also deceived many times by his father-in-law, Laban. All these gave rise to the evil that saturated his life.
Beloved, God is not partial. Whatever a man sows, he will reap. So good all the days of of the years of your life. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
