At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds. John 8:59 NIV

The crowd was furious with Jesus and His claim and picked up stones to hurl at Him, yet He slipped away. How did He get away so quickly? Quite possibly the people were stunned in hearing Jesus’ comment and when He made it, He quickly left the area before they could find and pick up stones to hurl at Him. Whatever the reason, it was not yet the time for Jesus to suffer. All is done in God’s time, which is perfect.

How are you doing these days? Good to see you are pressing on to inspire us with your fortitude. I somehow feel it was Jesus' divinity that caused him to escape angry mobs. But as you said it was not yet His time to suffer. Just thought about you Roland and wanted to say hello. -- Darna Bedwell
