Apologetics
The thoughts of God to His people are always good. It is not that they are good thoughts alone, He is ever ready to give them good things from His heart. He will never deny His people all the good things needed when due.
Do you know that there are other thoughts from other quarters? Yes, other thoughts contradict those of God. These thoughts come from two sources: Thoughts of His people and thoughts of the enemies of His people.
The people of God have their thoughts about how they think should be and they plan in that direction to actualize their thoughts. There is a wide gap between God's thoughts and that of man. When His people plan contrarily, He comes to distort it to fit into His thoughts and plans.
The thoughts of the enemies of God's people are grossly contrary to what He has for His people. They are always ready to destroy the people of God or His plans for them. Enemies always think negatively about them. They rejoice to do evil.
One thing with God is that, sometimes, He allows man to plan according to the thoughts of his heart and to execute it the way he wants it. However, when the thoughts and the plan are going on, the Lord will include certain things into it that will glorify Him.
What do I mean by this? The thoughts of Joseph's ten older brothers were to kill the dreams that he dreamed of so that he would not reign over them. He was "disposed off" to slavery. They did not know that he had been sent away to a place where his dreams would materialize for the glory of God.
The brothers regretted their actions, ditto their thoughts. Guilt tormented them for years. The thoughts and dreams of Joseph became a reality and the thoughts of God for his life were fulfilled. He was bold to say,
"But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive." Genesis 50:20.
Fellow Pilgrim, pay attention to the fact that neither your negative thoughts nor those of your enemies can override the purpose of God for you. Let me warn here that you should bring your thoughts under the control of the Holy Spirit so that negative thoughts will not crowd out God from your thoughts so that Satan will not take over control of your life.
One thing about Joseph remains that he did not allow his negative experiences to enter into his heart. He remains with his God. He feared Him alone. Every gang up of enemies did not influence his thoughts and hope negatively and at the end of the day, God was glorified in his life. He fed his enemies. His older brothers bowed before him according to his dreams.
This should convince you that whatever the enemies have done or will do to you will surely glorify God in your life in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is coming soon. Be prepared to meet Him.
