Why Do You Seek The Lord?

Jesus Christ is many things to different people. The way people perceive Him is different from one person to another. Many times, this is determined by what they have heard about Him and their needs. Sometimes, it is what they have seen Him doing or what His name has done.

During His Earthly ministry, after He fed thousands of people, people who were among those He fed visited the scene of the feast but could not see Him nor His disciples. They went ahead to seek him by paying the necessary transport fee to go to where they believed He must be with His disciples, that was. Capernaum.

Their guess was right. They found Him there. They explained how they have zealously sought Him until they found Him. Jesus was not carried away by their words because He knew all men and their hearts' content.

The Lord emptied the motive behind their seeking Him. It was because of the food He provided them. One interesting thing is that they could not deny the revelation because it was true. The Lord's counsel was that they should seek food that doesn't perish.

The Salient Question.
At this point, the people asked an important question that could restore them to the right position with the Lord, "What shall we do, that we might work the work of God?"

The Lord replied that they should believe in Him Who was sent by God, the Father.

This simply means that there are people who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ but are seeking Him for food only. They seek Him as the Provider but no more than that. It is sad that many such people attend places of worship or organized seminars or conferences where the word of God is shared. How can such be of any benefit to them when it is only the food that was important to them and not knowing and acknowledging Jesus Christ as the Lord?

Beloved Pilgrim, it is not good at all to be a "for food only Believer". It should be Christ first as the Lord of all. Food, clothes, and all other things needed are additional items that He will provide when needed. Christ and His kingdom should be sought first and all other things, not only food, will be added to it.
Watch and Pray! Remain blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
