Treasures Of The Storm

Walking through the darkness
Of a stormy trial,
My soul would have fainted,
But for my God’s sweet smile.

I saw His love so oft’,
In ways others didn’t see.
I felt His loving hand
Bring strength and comfort to me.

He told me not to fear,
When I was afraid and weak.
He was my soul’s anchor,
As I listened to Him speak.

He gave to me courage
When I was discouraged, and down.
He gave me a sweet song;
A smile, instead of a frown.

I learned to walk with Him,
And to rely on my God.
He grew more dear to me,
As step by step we did trod.

As I kept on looking
To my God, amidst the storm,
I found His grace enough;
And He kept me from all harm.

Sometimes I did stumble,
And lost sight of His dear face;
In mercy, He sought me,
And poured out His love and grace.

Now, I can thank my Lord,
For the trials he allowed;
For I see the treasures
That, through it, He has bestowed.

See Jesus’ nail scarred hands,
Out spread in mercy and love?
He too, faced hard trials,
But reigns, victorious above.

God alone can keep us,
And bring beauty out of pain.
He makes things beautiful,
Through life’s storms, sunshine, and rain.

The night will turn to day;
The fiercest of storms do pass;
But God will bring beauty,
If we’re faithful to the last.
