Let us meditate on Romans 8 verse 2 for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
What does that mean?
How has the law of the Spirit made me free from the law of sin and death?
Can the law save us?
What law are we talking about?
Are people justified and made alive by keeping the law?
No, no.
The law of sin and death condemns for it says "the wages of sin is DEATH."
That's Romans 6:23
No, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the gospel, the gospel by which we are freed from our sins and all of our transgressions when we believe in Christ.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)
And other verses like John 3:36 which says He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
So, the law of the Spirit belongs to those who are in Christ.
The law of the Spirit gives life to those who are in Christ, i.e. the Holy Spirit unites the soul to Christ and imputes His righteousness, the righteousness of Christ, to the believer and all of our sins are transferred to Christ so that we are without guile.
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile" it says in Psalm 32:1-2
When once we experience the love of God by believing the gospel we are given faith; miraculous, supernatural, saving faith.
This is given to us but only to the elect by the Spirit. It is a gift that comes from above.
A man can nothing, except it be given him from heaven said John the Baptist in John 3:27
