Apologetics
The Lord our God has many things with which He compares His people. This gives a vivid description and understanding of what or who they are or are expected to be.
One such comparison is contained in the book of Proverbs in chapter twenty-eight and verse one thus,
"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous (godly) are bold as a lion."
In the verse, a great difference between the wicked and the righteous is revealed. The lot of the wicked is to be fearful and run when no one is pursuing him but someone without any skeleton in his cupboard will be able to look fear in the eyes. He will stand sure and undisturbed.
Righteousness is an attribute of God, the Creator, which God's people must possess. This will be evidence of becoming a man having an image and likeness of God.
This manifested in the life of Jacob, the son of Isaac and a grandson of Abraham. When he escaped from Laban, his uncle and father-in-law. He was pursued until he caught up with him. He was accused of many things but he boldly confronted his accuser to prove his innocence. He was set free, (Genesis 31:36)
Being a righteous man has values. One of them is boldness which manifests in every form. The absence of guilt will rid fear from the heart of the righteous. He will have boldness to approach the Lord confidently with the assurance that God will answer, (1 John 3:21).
Beloved Pilgrim, try as much as possible to ensure that your heart ditto your life are free from any iniquities by which the Devil will accuse you that you may be judged and condemned. Be free of guilt then will you be bold as a lion to challenge your accuser as Jacob did to Laban who became speechless and powerless in the face of righteousness. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
