The Power Of Love

When we have known, and received,
God’s great love, pure and true,
We love Him, and each other,
In all we say and do.

True love looks beyond ourselves,
Engaging heart and soul,
To meet the needs of others;
And longs to make them whole.

And oh, what a wondrous thing!
When we love each other,
It heals, and lifts us up,
As we lift our brother!

Love lights up the toilsome path
Of duty, with it’s rays.
It gives meaning to all things,
And brightens up our days.

True love gives strength to weary feet,
And meaning to small things.
When love flows to God and others,
We’ll find our spirit sings.

When all life seems hard and bleak,
Love gives reason to go on.
It whispers hope, and courage,
When one has lost their song.

Love forgives hurts from others,
And does not hold a grudge.
It seeks to reconcile;
And is not quick to judge.

Love pushes the fears away,
And brings sweet trust instead.
It chooses to stand on truth,
When doubt would rear it’s head.

God’s perfect love won’t fail,
And changes us within.
It flows through us, to others,
And keeps us close to Him!
