To be a leader is not a small task. It is sad that in certain nations of the world, people want positions of leadership for the sake of occupying them without any clear-cut purpose for seeking them. A section of such people want leadership positions for personal selfish reasons and oppression. These groups are more rulers than leaders.

One noticeable thing about a leader is that he has followers he leads to a particular destination. This is where we can classify them broadly into two: the good and the bad leaders.

A good leader does not only seek the welfare of his followers, he is leading them to a very good place of peace, rest, and comfort.

A bad leader is the opposite: he may seek temporarily the good of his followers but he is doing so to their detriment and final destruction.

That is the reason every follower should ruminate very well before choosing a leader to follow. You must know about the destination you are being taken to. If you are not sure but you are doing the following blindly, you may likely end where you least expect. Therefore, be watchful!

Do you know what? A great leader of his people will not put his people in darkness concerning their journey. He tells them what it involves and possible prices to pay. He will never leave them in darkness in respect of what their rewards will be at the end of the journey.

When a great leader hears about anything that can bring destruction, he alerts his people to take every necessary step. Do you know what? He will not go to sleep himself, he will be grossly involved. He will sometimes do more than the followers.

This was the case with the King of Nineveh. When the news of the impending destruction of the great city got to him in his palace, "...he stepped down from his throne and took off his royal robes. He dressed himself in burlap and sat on a heap of ashes." Jonah 3:6, New Living Translation, NLT.

He sent a decree out to all the people in the city and even animals fasted to avert the evil the Lord had purposed to bring on them. The steps of the leader and his people worked because "When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened." Jonah 3:10.
That is a great leader for you.

Beloved Pilgrim, have you a leader who leads you back to God alone, follow him! Do you have a leader who wants you to be fervent in the words of God, please, follow him. Are you blessed with a leader who wants you to obey God's instructions? Please, yield to him. He has a very great purpose for your life. He is taking you in the Lord to a great place, here on the planet Earth, and there in eternity.

Are you also a leader in one form or the other? Do you have people following you? Ask yourself, "Where am I leading this person?" Am I leading them to a glorious end or a destructive end?" In brief, do not hesitate to ask yourself, "Am I leading them to God?"

Do not forget that rewards are awaiting you at the end of your journey at the end of your pilgrimage here. What will your rewards be? The choice is yours depending on where you lead people. May the Lord help you to lead your followers to the Lord their God in the name of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
