"And by a prophet, the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved." Hosea:12:13

The Lord leads His people through His chosen leaders at one time or the other. Each person is in his own time and season. Not only that, each leader has his assignment, many times it may look like each other but at other times it may be different. Yet, they work for the same Lord, their God.

One unfailing weapon of a leader of God's people is obedience. This is "doing according to what God had commanded". Under normal circumstances, every leader wants to do the will of God but in certain cases, they fail to act according to God's instructions and they pay dearly for it.

One of the factors that can cause a leader to go astray from following his Employer's instructions is "the people".

Let us examine in brief, an example from the life of one of those who have lived and worked for God before us. Moses was one of such. His life is filled with lots of lessons. He was a well-refined man. He was well-processed until he became the meekest on the Earth in his generation, (Numbers 12:3).

With this unique and uncommon status, the people affected him badly. The Holy Scriptures record, "Psalms 106:32-33
"At Meribah, too, they angered the lord,
    causing Moses serious trouble.
They made Moses angry,
    and he spoke foolishly." Psalm 106:32,33. New Living Translation, NLT.

Can you see what people (of God) are? They can overstretch the elastic patience of the most meek until it breaks. That is mankind for you and what they can do.

Pay attention to the truth that he was not exonerated from being troubled by his rash utterance. He was chastised for it, the most meek on the Earth!

Who then cannot be provoked until he says or does foolish things against the will and commandments of God? The people are to be watched and be careful of. They can say and do things to provoke a leader to take decisions and steps that will cause him to become an enemy of the Lord. Let every leader watch, please. If human beings have been provoking God to anger since creation until now, how much more will they provoke the Spirit of a leader of His people? Let every leader watch and do so well.

A Review.
Please, kindly review your life and doings to see where you have violated the instructions of the Lord because of the people's evil acts or utterances. Make every necessary adjustment. Do only that which pleases the Lord.

May you not act rashly or say foolish things to sin against the Lord your God in the name of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
