And Joseph came in unto them iAnd he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly today?" Genesis 40:6-7. King James Version, KJV.
Everyone with a sound mind has his dreams. This may be in the form of a spiritual disclosure or by having a set of goals to achieve in a lifetime. The undoing of many dreamers is that they are so engrossed in their dreams that they have no concerns about other people's lives and dreams. In other words, they have become "selfish" in their life pursuit. Such people do not realize that the fulfillment of their dreams may be the fetus in the pregnancy of other people's dreams.
What do I mean?
Fulfillment of their dreams is brought up in their support or concerns for others' success or welfare. Meaning that if you have dreams, it will come to pass by paying attention to other people's welfare and dreams.
This was the case with Joseph, the dreamer. He had his dreams of becoming great in life but he had to work it out or make it work. He has his roles to play in fulfilling his destiny.
In his afflictions for an offense he did not commit, he became an overseer over other prisoners. Do you know what? He was concerned about the welfare of his fellow prisoners. This began the beginning of his climbing the ladder of success.
Early in the morning, he saw the unusual negative countenance of two of the prisoners, the king's Cup-bearer and Baker. He inquired of the cause.
Everything boiled down to dreams. Both dreamed their dreams but did not know the meaning. It was Joseph who gave the right interpretations of their dreams. The dreams came to pass as they were dreamed and interpreted within three days.
It was this concern that was displayed that opened the door for the fulfillment of his dreams. It was the Cupbearer who introduced him to King Pharaoh when he had dreams which he could not understand and no one else could. It was at this point that Joseph was brought in. He interpreted the dreams well and was promoted to become the next in command to the king.
Beloved Pilgrim, do you know that the fulfillment of your dreams depends on your concern for the welfare and dreams of others? The fulfillment of dreams is rooted in the fulfillment of other people's dreams and aspirations. Act well your part and the Lord will not fail to bring your dreams to pass. May your dreams come to fulfillment in the name of Jesus Christ.
