The Light of the World Part 1

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NIV

There must have been a bit of time between Jesus talking with the adulteress and Him speaking again with the crowd. Either He went elsewhere or a group of people had to form.

Notice here that Jesus does not say that He is light for the world, but rather that He is the light of the world. So, what is He saying? The Light brings forth truth. The Light may touch the eye, yet it digs even deeper, touching the heart, mind and soul. It is the Light, much more power than light from the sun. Unless the Light permeates the heart, mind and soul, then the individual is spiritually dead, possessing no true life. Live in the Light of the World and have real life within!
