n life, especially in the Scriptures, mankind is compared with many types of things like trees, animals, or objects d--epending on what is to be brought out of such comparison. Each tree, animal, or object has its peculiar strength, use, or benefits.
This can be used to describe a man.

There is a Proverb recorded in the Scriptures and credited to Jotham, the last child of Jerubaal, that is, Gideon in a conspiracy that involved Abimelech, the son of Gideon's concubine.

The lessons in the Proverb are many but let us examine one that has to do with your service to God and humanity.

Conspirators are always like trees looking for a ringleader who will reign or be their head. This is the basis of Jotham's Proverb. Trees were looking for a king who would lead them and they searched diligently for one until they succeeded.

Olive tree.
Olive Tree was invited to be the king over them but Olive Tree was not ready. It knew and valued its service. The trees said, 9:8 " ...Reign thou over us."
"But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honor God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?"

The same went for the fig tree.
Fig tree.
The trees went to the Fig tree to seek its leadership,
" ...Come thou, and reign over us."
The response remains,
"But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?"

The Vine
The search for the tree continued. They visited the vine with the same request.
" ...Come thou, and reign over us."
"And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?"

The trees continued the search until they found someone who did not have any particular service for God and mankind or was not ready to protect the service. They found solace in the Bramble.

Bramble.
" ...Come thou, and reign over us."
"And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me, king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon". Judges 9: 9-15.

Beloved reader, can you see the efforts of the Olive, the Fig, and the Vine trees to protect their services? How do you value your service to God and humanity? Do you take care of and protect your assigned work? If you don't stand up for something, you will fall for anything. If you are not fully occupied by what are assigned to do for the Lord, His house, and people, you will be readily available to be used by conspirators.

Please, don't be a read tool in the hands of rebels. Every rebellion will be judged at the right time. Therefore, do not be a conspirator or a leader of rebels. The outcome will not be in your favor and those who invite you to be their head. Know your purpose of living and protect your service to God and humanity. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
