Apologetics
Report Article
Monopoly has always been an enemy of humanity. A monopolist never fails to extort the populace to their own hurt. On the other hand, where there are various types of a product or producers, the people will have to make a choice between available items.
To God be the glory, He never suffer from monopoly. No one is indispensable. Nothing can hold Him captive. As the Creator of all things in Heaven and Earth, He can employ any of those creations for His glory. He has all things at His bell and call and they must obey.
On the other hand, among all that God created, mankind always want his own ways to walk in. He disobeys God at any time. When God gives instructions, many times, they will not obey Him. The question now is, "Will God allow human disobedience to to distrupt His plans and purposes He wants to achieve?" No way! God has alternatives. He can raise another person or animal or an Angel who will perform what He had determined to achieve.
Not only that, the death of a man does not put an end to set goals of the Lord who has all the kingdoms and is the Ruler over all. The Songwriter of Israel confirms,
"For the kingdom is the Lord's,
And He rules over the nations." Psalm 22:27(in part).
There is nothing that can prevent what He has planned to attain. If a servant of God sleeps in the Lord, after completing his assignment or during his assignment, the work of God must continue. He raises alternatives.
"And when Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
When Jobab died, Husham if the Temanites reigned in his place.
And when Husham died, Hodad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place." ,1 Chronicles 1:44-46
All the replacements above happened in the land of Moab. What happened in Moab takes place in all the spheres of life because the Lord reigns over all and has all things under His control. He does not need to go about looking for a replacement, it is already available.
Let me reiterate this by making reference to the period of drought decreed by Prophet Elijah during the reign of King Ahab of Israel. No rain to sustain the people and plants. The first instructions to the Prophet was, "Get away from here and turn eastwar, and hide by the Brook Chereth, which flows into the Jordan.
And it will be that you shall drink from the Brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there." 1 King's 17:3-4.
The Lord hid him from humanity for security reasons and He raised birds, ravens, to be Elijah's chef and service girls for a season. They never failed in their duties for the duration they were engaged.
When the brook dried up, the Lord replaced the Brook and the ravens with a woman who was a stranger, a widow from Zarephath. The second instructions came to the Prophet,
"Arise, go to Zarephath which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See I have commanded a widow there to provide for you." 1 Kings 17:9.
The Lord got an alternative to the Brook and the ravens in the widow of Zarephath. Do you know that Prophet Elijah later left the domain of that widow? God fed him in various ways that pleased Him.
For instance, when Elijah was fleeing from Jezebel, he was wearied and the Lord sent an Angel to meet his needs, 1 Kings 19:5-8.
The Lord does not change; He remains the same today and tomorrow as He was yesterday. If He carried out replacement in the past, He can raise alternatives anytime and from anywhere.
Does the Lord raise someone for you to provide for you? Have you missed him in one way or the other? You have no problem, God has other alternatives, you only need to cleave to the Lord Who has absolute control over all things. If a man fails, He has other people, male or female. He can raise other creatures to meet your needs.
Have you been raised to make provision certain people? Be dutiful. Do it as you have been instructed and according to your God-given ability. You have no reason to be proud over the assignment. If you fail to work for the Lord in the lives of His people, He has other alternatives. Do the work or else, you will be replaced. Do not forget that it is the worker who carry out his duty that will be rewarded. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
