There are two questions that everyone, old, young, rich, poor, high or low, needs to ask himself. Answers to these questions are serious determinants of life. You cannot run away from the truth and realities associated with them. The first question is easier to answer but the second question seems to be "tougher' because it requires serious meditation, decision, and determination. You can call this question, "the essence of living". These questions are Angelic ones to a slave girl, Hagar who was driven out of her mistress' house, (Sarah's house).

The questions are
"Hagar, Sarah's maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?" Genesis 16:8a.

It is important to answer them yourself; or what do you think? You are coming from somewhere but from where you are, where are you going?

Everyone is, in most cases, like Hagar; knowing where he is coming from but not knowing where the next or final destination is. What was Hagar's response? His one-leg answer is,
"I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai." Genesis 16:8b, New King James Version. NKJV.

Let us examine the journey of man, most especially from the spiritual point of view. Where are you coming from? Have you taken the time to know this? Can you answer this simple question? You came from somewhere before you entered your mother's womb, this was the case with Prophet Jeremiah and everyone, Jeremiah 1:5.

Irrespective of your where you were before you entered your mother's womb, there is a Personality Who knew you. He introduced Himself as, " I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.
I am the First and the Last.
I am He who lives and was dead and behold, I am alive forever more.
Amen, I have the keys of Hades and of Death." Revelation 1:1, 17-18.

The Lord, Who is the Personality, knew you before you arrived in your mother's womb, is the Last in the journey of your life.

Many people are not aware of their existence before arriving in their mother's womb. That should not be your problem. One thing I am sure of is that at your point of entry into the world, you were in a womb. There, your journey in life started. Do you know what? Alpha was there with you. He was, and still is, your Source. No debate! You may or may not know. You can easily answer the question "Where are you coming from?" From the womb! Okay.

A more difficult question is, "Where are you going?" Every journey that has a starting point must end somewhere. Where are you going? How do you want to end your journey and where?

Let it be clear to you that the Personality at the start of your life, Alpha, dealt with you with grace, mercy, and favor sending you on an errand to the Earth. At the end of your journey in life, you are to give an account of your journey to Him as Omega. He will then give you rewards for the work you have done on the journey of life.

Two destinations are awaiting you: Eternal life and Eternal death but you cannot be in the two at the same time. It is your activities or works on the journey of your life that will speak for you. By that time, no excuse or provision for repentance. It would be too late then.

The content of Psalm 90:12 is instructive and understandable enough. It reads, "So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom." NKJV.

Do you remember or mark your birthday annually, monthly, weekly, or daily? Please, do. This will always remind you that each birthday you remember to celebrate is a direct reminder of your death day. The reason is that the journey that started in the Womb will surely end in the Tomb at the right or appointed time. For this reason, be a wise man.

How?

Deuteronomy 32:29. declares, "Oh, that they (you) were wise, they (you) understand this,
That they (you) would consider their (your) latter end."

You cannot afford to walk in the journey of life waywardly or aimlessly as a wanderer. You must live purposefully. Your journey from the womb will take you to where you will meet the Omega, the Lord. How prepared are you? Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.`1`
