In the journey of life, there are times to be together with friends, family members, and other neighbors. At other times, detachment happens to be away from those you love for a season. It is part of living.
Now, how do you react while you were (are) away from those you left behind? With the technology in place now, what do you do with those you left? Do you act or react to them equally?
I think what you do will be a product of your love for each of them and the provision available. With or without sufficient provision, you will often call your spouse and children. Other people can be called directly or by proxy, by asking those you called to deliver your message to them. Sometimes, this call may be audio or video. Depending on many factors.
Before you can call anyone, one thing must have happened to you. What can this be? You must have remembered the person(s) and possibly thought about him for some time. If these two do not happen first, I doubt if consideration will be given to calling.
A Pastor friend is always angry whenever anyone generates a missed call on his phone by "Flashing". Sometimes, he becomes bitter if it is repeated two or three times. One thing I usually tell him is that, for a person to "flash" your number, he remembers you and possibly thinks about you. In addition to that, he may even talk about you for good.
There have been scores of rifts between people for not calling at all or not calling enough. Don't forget, the reason behind this is love.
A person you don't remember will not occupy any portion of your thoughts and you cannot take any action about him, good or bad. Not only that, such a person is on his way to "extinction" from your "system". You will soon forget him. You may occasionally remember him on certain condition(s).
Beloved, how often do you remember your Lover Who paid the Supreme price for your sins? Are you aware of Him? How or Who is He to you? Have you fallen in love with Him?
How often do you remember Him and all His good works? Do you think about Him and His commandments? Do you fear and obey Him?
Like in human dealings, if you know the Lord as He is, the Creator of all things, if you forget Him, He will not have any room in your thoughts. This simply means that you will soon forget Him. If this happens, you will forget His commandments. This will not be to your advantage. In the end, you will forsake Him, God forbid this in your life.
Therefore, draw yourself to the Lord your God. Remember Him and His commandments always. Meditate on the instructions He has given and those He is giving you regularly to carry them out. You can not afford to forget and forsake the Lord your God. Those who did or do so are courting bitterness. May this not be your portion in Jesus' name. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
