But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” John 7:2-4 NIV
Jesus did not seek popularity. That would be self-seeking. Jesus sought glory for the Father. Jesus did not seek for self. His acts were done that those who saw them would believe that He was sent by the Father. Are we willing to not seek for self, but for that which is of the Lord? Do the work given you by the Lord.
