"Let brotherly love continue. "Hebrews 13:1.

In human dealings, it is practically impossible to avoid mistakes or wrongdoings. Many times, certain things go wrong, intentionally or unintentionally. It now depends on the people involved to handle them carefully so that it will not escalate out of proportion, especially among brethren in Christ.

What happens among unbelievers rears its ugly head among children of God but the latter must ensure that "Brotherly love" must continue. So, they must handle every issue differently in love.

One of the ways to sustain brotherly love is peaceful separation. Sometimes, too much familiarity breeds contempt. Many times, distance guarantees dignity. This was the case with Father Abraham and Lot, the son of his brother.

Brotherly love was dwindling between Abraham and Lot indirectly through their herdsmen. The love suffered wounds from the "sword" of prosperity. Both Abraham and Lot were prosperous. God blesses His people and if care is not taken, rifts can be generated. There were rifts between their workers. Each party was busy protecting their Master's interest.

For brotherly love to continue, separation came in:
13:8 "And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we are brethren.
13:9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left." Genesis 13:8-9.
Lot was separated from him...." Genesis 13,8-9, 14(in part).

This was how strife was settled between two brethren. Do you know that greed still has a strong grip on the hearts of some brethren? They need your intercession to be set free. Lot chose wrongly and at last, lost all he had acquired to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis chapter nineteen.

Beloved, it is not wrong to be separated from certain brethren for peace to reign and continuity of brotherly love. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
