The Secrets of The LORD
Do you know that God has secrets? Yes, God has a lot of secrets. And He chose to keep them secret for reasons best known to him. 1 Corinthians 2 reveal that Satan and his cohorts don’t have access to God’s secrets. Some of His secrets are also not known to some of his Holy Angels. According to 1 Peter 1:12, the angels of God love to look into them. Now if God has secrets that are not known to some of his own Angels and are not known to Satan and his cohorts, who do you think has access to his secrets?
Now first of all, according to 1 Corinthians 2, God reveals his secrets to believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you want to know God’s secrets? Be filled with the Spirit of God. Because the Spirit knows everything and has all the information on what God has in store for you, therefore He can reveal it to you. While you spend time in the presence of God, seeking him, worshipping, praising and praying to God, according to Jeremiah 33:3, He will reveal his secrets to you. He will show you deep and mighty revelations.
Secondly, according to Psalm 25:14, God reveals his secrets to those that fear Him. If you want to access the secrets of the Lord and you don’t fear him, you are not qualified. If God reveals his secrets to you and you divulge it, when you are supposed to keep them. He may not reveal such things to you again until you repent and mature. He only reveals his secrets consistently to obedient and mature believers who fear him. These mature believers are holy believers who have the fear of the Lord and do not live in sin.
Thirdly, according to Amos 3:7, God also reveals his secrets to his prophets. In fact according to that verse, God does not do anything without first revealing it to his prophets. They are friends of God who are very close to Him. Hence the Lord share his secrets with them every now and then. The prophets operate in word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of Spirits, and word of prophecy etc. While some prophets are seers. Not all prophets are seers. Some are Nabi prophets.
Fourthly, according to Ephesians 3:5, apart from prophets, God also reveals his secrets to Apostles. The Apostles receive revelations from God. They are visionaries who govern the church with their God given authority and insight. Ephesians 2:20 explains that the church was built on the foundation of Apostles and Prophets. The other offices in the five fold ministry, namely teachers, Pastors and Evangelists also hear from God in fulfilling their calling.
Lastly, I wish to make it clear that though as believers we have access to God’s secrets, sometimes God still keeps some things to himself. In 2 Kings 4:27, Prophet Elisha said, “And the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me”. Elisha understood that in that case, God didn’t tell him anything. In such cases, when we do not have access to information on what God is saying or doing, We should not argue with God’s method, otherwise we will miss out on His miracles and blessings. It is for this reason that some of God’s works are kept secret until they are finished. If we are conscious of all the processes we would probably rebel or act as an hindrance to his plans. Imagine if God didn’t put Adam to sleep before ripping open his side!, Adam definitely wouldn’t have agreed. And Imagine if God didn’t make Zechariah dumb, until the day his son, John the Baptist was named “John”, Zechariah definitely wouldn’t have allowed him to be named, John. In Yoruba language, God is called Awamaridi which means He is past finding out. We know him but cant know all of him. For his ways and judgments are unsearchable. We only know him partly. Believers in Heaven, have access to more of God’s secrets and works, than those of us here on earth. And for as long as we remain here on earth and are in our earthly suits, there are so many secrets of the Lord that we wont have access to, until we get to heaven.
I pray for you today, that as you draw closer to God in prayer and worship in his presence, He will reveal his secrets that he wishes to reveal to you in Jesus name; And I pray that concerning those secrets which he purposely hid from you, because he is working out a miracle for you and don’t want you to hinder it, I ask that He brings them to perfection in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?”. “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?”. For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen – Romans 11:33-36

Father GOD, by your Spirit I ask that you reveal to me what you have prepared for me, what lies ahead of me, and all the secrets you wish to make known to me; And pertaining to those things you have secretly hidden from me because you are working out miracles for me that you don’t want me to hinder, I ask that you bring them to fruition and fulfillment. I pray with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
