I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 NIV
Jesus is our King, enthroned in Heaven. What an honor was bestowed upon Peter in Christ giving Him the keys to the kingdom of heaven. It is as if Christ made Him an officer in charge of the entrance to the Lord’s kingdom. Wow, what an honor that is for someone to receive. Peter was given access to Heaven. We who follow Christ, when we pass from this world, we shall receive our residence in Heaven. The keys to heaven will open it up unto us.
