“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.”

Why is it so hard to remember that God is our Father and we stand along Christ as an heir? When troubled times come we seem to shrink back into a gloomy cloud of despair and uncertainty.

The scripture tells us that we are not slaves, but sons and daughters of God. We need to recognize and receive it into our hearts. It isn’t something just nice to say, but something that is a must!

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

We as His children must hold our heads up high and pray for those who cannot pray for themselves. We must stand for truth and lift our country up and those who fight for it. We must move forward and not backwards. We are not slaves and we will not return to the days of old for we are champions in Gods Army!

Prayer:
Abba, daddy, help us to remember who we are in you. That we not relinquish the power and authority that You empowered us with. In Jesus. Amen.
