A dog cuddles beside me gradually coming to complete rest. I can feel the tension leave its body as it settles in against my thigh here on the couch. In a similar way You want us to settle in Your Presence, not merely pause there as good as that can be sometimes. Your Presence and our resting there needs to be our destination, not a mere stop along the way. It is then and there that You can reveal Your heart to us. Sitting saturated in the light of the One Who is the Light changes everything. I now see all in Your light and with the clarity of that Light. I see everything and everyone in a new light, beginning with myself, made in Your image, O God.
