"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." We have heard it often. Jesus was God's Son by nature, but we as believers are His sons and daughters by adoptive grace. Nevertheless we are co heirs with Jesus Christ eternally. What unfathomable grace that is!
The so-ness (to coin a word) of God's love is reflected or mirrored by the so-lostness of the world He created and then came to rescue when it fell It took such an extensive love to reach the great extent of our lostness, the great lostness and confusion of humankind.
The abundant life that Jesus the Son came to give and promised to provide is more about love than it is about anything else. Jesus could so relate and delight in the widow who gave her last mite, because she, out of the love in her heart, gave her all as He was about to do. It is this kind of abundant, overflowing love that makes us who we truly are in God.
