Lord God,

As I lie awake at night,

The thoughts cycle through my mind,

I can’t let go of my failures from today,

And I can’t drive out the worries of tomorrow,

My heart races,

I close my eyes and try to relax,

But my body won’t let me drift off,

Lord, please calm my restless mind,

I thank you that you bless your dear children with sleep,

And that we can rest at ease,

Knowing that we are always secure under your loving care,

Please still my anxious mind and body now,

And remind me that you are ever by my side,   

May you please bless me with good sleep this night,

And may I wake up tomorrow morning ever praising your name.
