You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. John 5:39-40 NIV
Salvation is not had in the scriptures. Yes the scriptures contain God’s word but salvation comes from the Son sent to save us from our sins. The leaders knew that Messiah was coming but they were not willing to accept that Messiah had come. Jesus stands waiting to save all who will come to Him. Salvation is had alone through Him.
